In case you host multiple Internet sites in the very same account and one of them is hacked, it is quite possible that all of them will get hacked after that. There're different reasons why this may happen, the two most common are: using really weak passwords or using outdated scripts with widely known weaknesses. In this way, a single compromised site can do lots of damage to all your websites, because gaining access to one script generally allows hackers to access the entire Internet hosting account. This is the reason why we have developed a new security option named JailHost. Once enabled, this feature will literally lock a site inside its folder, so if an attacker takes over it, the remaining Internet sites in the account will remain hidden. Thus they'll be protected from further intrusion. The JailHost option does not mean that you should not keep your sites up to date, but it will greatly minimize the damage.

JailHost in Shared Hosting

We’ve included JailHost for all shared hosting packages, so you can protect your sites with just a couple of clicks within your Hepsia Control Panel. The feature is not active by default so as to prevent interfering with any sites where you may want visitors or admins to be able to access content from other folders in your account, but activating it for all the other sites is really easy. Unlike various other Control Panels where the vast majority of domains have their files in the same main folder, all domains and subdomains in Hepsia have their own folders, which makes the control and the protection of multiple websites easier. In the unfortunate scenario of a website getting hacked, the rest of your sites will be safe and we will have multiple daily backup copies for the affected one, therefore we will be able to restore it to its original state within minutes.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Hosting

JailHost comes with all our semi-dedicated hosting plans and you can activate it with a couple of clicks. It is not activated by default because we don't want to prevent some scripts that may need to gain access to multiple folders in the account from working properly. You'll be able to enable JailHost for all other sites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and you can do this very easily even when you don't have any previous experience. What allows us to offer JailHost is the way Hepsia handles multiple domains - they all have individual folders which could be "locked". In comparison, other widespread Control Panels have add-on domains and their content is kept in the main domain folder, so in case a single Internet site is hacked, the whole account is hacked, which isn't the case with Hepsia. In the event that an Internet site gets damaged regardless of your efforts, we will be able to restore it the way it was in no time because we will have several daily backups of the entire account.
